Oak and Bronzed Glass Staircase Renovation

Project: Clifford Road

The Hubball family home was beautiful to start even before First Step Designs entered with an award-winning staircase design idea, but after all the renovation works that were complete, the old staircase stood out like a sore thumb. Staircase renovation transformations are works of art.

Replacing a staircase can be a very intrusive process on certain projects, but with a staircase renovation, you can achieve the same finish without the hard work. With this in mind, we designed the perfect Oak and Glass staircase for Mr and Mrs Hubbal. There are a huge variety of ways to personalise the staircase to suit our client’s tastes, in this case Mr Hubball opted for our special Bronzed glass and brass hardware to match other elements of his interior.

We chose to renovate the entire staircase with European White Oak to finish like a brand new solid oak staircase. All newel posts are removed completely and replaced with solid oak posts (a variety of styles available), finished with a cap of your choice. A huge range of handrails are available to choose from to compliment your toughened glass balustrade, our sample kit will allow you to make the right decision.

We clad the strings (sides of the staircase) with an oak veneer throughout, so once a carpet is relaid the staircase is complete. We even replaced the bottom step entirely with a solid Oak Bullnose step finished with an anti slip lacquer for safety.
