Matte Black Spine Staircase

Mr and Mrs Connors had designed their own custom new build project, where everything was made to their own personal specifcation. With a  monotone interior styling, the finish of the staircase was decided way before the actual final design was achieved. Matte black was a tone throughout the home, on all doors, windows and many furnishings. We decided to create this throughout the staircase with brushed steel highlight to set the staircase apart from other elements in the home. The result was breathtaking.

Our designer Adam visited the family as they were almost finished with the build but without a staircase. He was able to design the perfect spine staircase to suit their needs, but more importantly advised where the half landing should be installed in order for the staircase to work perfectly within regulations. Once this was agreed, the design could be finalised. Our team take care of everything when it comes to the staircase, certain elements of building work MUST be correct for your staircase to pass regulations, so it is important to get a memeber of our team out at the early stages of your build!

Since this build did not have the right wall construction for a true cantilever staircase, we chose to create a central Spine finish, which gave the home even more character and charm. Our central spine is fabricated to perfection with no visible welds anywhere, wheras some companies make this from box section to save costs… We strongly disagree with this method and would never put our name to it.

We finished the White Oak with an ebony stain to compliment the central spine, powder coated all steel components to a matte black and due to the substantial width of the staircase we even side fixed a steel rail to the glass for the final element of class to the project. A wonderful and original finish with a five-star review from the client.
