LED Oak Staircase with Frameless Glass
Project: Arlington Road
Our friends over at Croystone Ltd | Interior Designs and Construction chose our team to create a solid oak feature staircase for a penthouse apartment in London. Our Oak staircase range combines the traditional construction methods of staircase with modern finishings to compliment a more contemporary home. This Oak staircase was designed to perfection with frameless glass balustrades throughout the staircase and landing, allowing us to create the widest staircase possible for the space, a true luxury.
In addition to this, we chose a no-nosing option for the staircase. This is a key detail that could be missed, meaning that the tread creates a flush transition with the riser, so there is a clean zig zag as you rise through the staircase, as opposed the riser (vertical section between treads) being set back approx. 20mm as usual. This means the treads and risers are both manufactured from 22mm solid oak as opposed to use of veneers. A small detail, with a huge impact.
Every component goes through a rigorous quality control check prior to final French polishing to ensure the final finish will be sublime. Then using the finest quality two pac lacquers, we apply four coats throughout the entire staircase for extra durability, followed by four coats of anti slip lacquer on all treads for the added element of safety.
Finally we worked hard with the team at Croystone Ltd to create a custom LED finish to the string of the staircase. The plasterboard finishes at a flush level to the staircase string, hiding an LED strip so the staircase elegantly glows without any electronics or lighting channels on show. A real bespoke addition to a flawless staircase.
