Curved and Flared Steel Staircase

Project: Bretby Close

Working alongside Bi-Design Archtecture in Derbyshire we were called upon to design a fabulous curved and flared open staircase. These designs are complex and require precision planning with the builders and architects alike, so we ask to be involved ASAP in the build to lay footprints and structural requirements for this staircase. With correct planning, we ensure there is no compromise needed for the perfect staircase.

Our designer Adam worked closely Elmtree Building Contractors to ensure all aspects of the preparation was perfect, the project could not have gone better! Adam met with the client to discuss all aspects of the project creating multiple designs to ensure the staircase was perfect. This included a full reposition of the staircase to allow adequate headroom, a unique curved form that features of 4 different radius’ and a huge opening feature measureing over 1400mm

The fluid shape of the staircas ensured it was positioned perfectly, not causing an obstruction for movement or the stunning views Derbyshire. The white powder coated strings match the walls and allow the oak treads to be appear floating, opening up the space and allowing all the natural light to flood throughout the home.
