# First Step Designs

> First Step Designs is a bespoke staircase design, manufacture, and installation company based in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, UK, founded in 2014. They design, CAD-model, hand-craft, and install one-of-a-kind staircases and staircase renovations for homeowners, architects, builders, and self-builders nationwide across the UK. Every staircase is designed in-house and built to order in their Staffordshire workshop, with a 10-year installation warranty. They are a "Made in Britain" accredited company and winners of the Build It Award for Best Staircase 2024.

First Step Designs offers two core services: **bespoke (new-build) staircases** in a range of styles — oak, spine/central-spine, metal, cut string, floating, glass, and curved — and **staircase renovations** that transform existing staircases without a full rebuild. Projects are managed end-to-end by a single dedicated designer/project manager, from initial enquiry and same-day quote, through home survey and 3D CAD design, to in-house fabrication (3–5 days) and installation (2–4 days) by their own Staffordshire-based teams. Consultations can happen at the client's home, the Staffordshire workshop, or via video call.
